The Emerald ash borer
A lot of baseball bats these days are made out of ash. These magnificent trees grow all over North America. I learned recently that this certain species of tree is going through a grave problem recently. An exotic beetle accidentally imported from Asia, called the emerald ash borer (pictured above). It has destroyed the Ash tree population in the last 10 years and if the trend continues the trees will become extinct in North America. to slow down this process, I think the MLB and other big baseball leagues should ban the use and production of Ash baseball bats. To hopefully slow down the process of them going extinct to buy scientists a little more time to find a solution and stop this. Other materials can be used to replace ash, for example, maple, hickory and my personal favorite, bamboo. Bamboo is known to be a very strong and durable materiel. that is why it is why i prefer it.

I love this and agree 100% with the ban on the use of Ash baseball bats.

I agree. Bamboo bats would be a better fit than ash because bamboo is really stronger than ash

Those bugs have been ruining all my ash trees. Great to see someone concerned with their preservation.
